Ramon was teaching Jeff some of the exercises when he was here- it's a lot harder than it looks. Ramon does it so effortlessly, but it can be pretty awkward when trying yourself. I will spend a lot of time practicing with him. The harder exercises will not be for the home program -thank God :) Ramon has over 700 exercises he has developed himself and he chooses which ones your child needs. He says he will not spend alot of time of head control with her because as your can see, when her trunk is straight, her head is usually straight- so that will come with the other exercises too. He says she has a lot of strength- she just doesn't know how to use it. She will gain that with repetition. It's not about "learning" the exercise, it's about repeating it so the brain will automatically repsond to it. When he does the first repetition she often responds slowly, then the second one, she responds in half the time. So you can just imagine as we keep repeating this how she will respond. Ramon says as humans we all have the innate ability to stand, walk, sit etc, but we have to figure out how to trigger the brain to perform those functions. I love his philosophy :) There is no "she can't do it" just "let's figure out how to make her do it." I'm going to put him in my luggage and take him home with me...
